Donald Trump Probably Withdrew His Testimony for One Principal Reason

The former president Donald Trump's estranged niece has asserted that she is aware of the "true reason" behind her uncle's decision to withdraw from the witness stand during his civil fraud trial in New York.

In her most recent post on the website Substack, Mary Trump attacked her uncle and questioned his choice to withhold testimony in the $250 million lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James. That follows Alina Habba, the politician's attorney, stating that he was "looking forward to taking the stand."

Habba stated outside the court on Thursday: "He's not afraid, so he will open himself up to whatever they want." A fearful person cowers. Trump the president is not a coward.

Since then, Trump has stated on his media platform Truth Social that he has "nothing more to say" and that he will "not be testifying on Monday." He continued: "This is a complete & total election interference (Biden campaign!) witch hunt."

Legal expert Joe Gallina stated on social media that her uncle really decided not to testify since doing so would have put him in further legal hot water.

"There is no way Donald's testimony wouldn't have landed him in jail," Gallina wrote, "especially with the gag order back in place." He would have confronted Engoron's fury, attacked the court, and done exactly what he was warned he couldn't do.

"And, of course, there's an even bigger reason... The last time Donald was on the stand, he made a lot of questionable claims that damaged his case."

Following Trump's posting on Truth Social of the judge's primary law clerk's link and his description of her as a "very disturbed and angry law clerk," Judge Arthur Engoron carried out the gag order that had been reinstated by an appellate court.

In a statement obtained by NBC, Chris Kise, the stated: "There is really nothing more to say to a Judge who has imposed an unconstitutional gag order and thus far appears to have ignored President Trump's testimony and that of everyone else involved in the complex financial transactions at issue in the case."

The Trump Organization is accused in the lawsuit of lying to lenders and inflating the worth of some of its assets. This includes valuable real estate, such as Trump's Florida resort Mar-a-Lago.

Trump and his business have already been found to be civilly responsible by Engoron for fraud. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and asserted that the assets' true value is understated in the financial accounts submitted by the Trump Organization.

Mary Trump is renowned for herpublicly criticized her uncle and, in a notorious recording, spoke with her late aunt, Maryanne Barry Trump, the late sister of Donald Trump, during which she was audibly heard calling her brother "cruel."

After reading Mary Trump's book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man in 2020, she filed a lawsuit against the former president, alleging she was defrauded of millions of dollars by Donald Trump and two of his siblings. The 45th president then filed a countersuit against The New York Times and his niece, alleging they had conspired to violate a confidentiality agreement on Mary Trump's grandfather, Fred Trump Sr., from 2001. Although the judge has not yet decided on Mary Trump's motion to dismiss, the case against the Times wa

s dismissed.
